Unless the dog is actually causing harm or is destructive to the person it's completely rude and frankly none of their business. I would want to say something along the lines of "if you want to go there, your your dog desperately looks like he needs a bath... But that would be none of my business either!" point made whether or not the poor (and outrageously well behaved) pooch had odour problems :)

NO i would never do that but i do get up people who do not keep their dogs on a lead if they can't control them. its none of people's business if your dog is not obedient as long as it doesn't hurt anyone they can bugger off.

the problem is those who cant control them and dont have them on a lead because i have had dogs running at me and my border collie that i dont know if they want to play or attack.

thats when i say "if you cant control your dog keep it on a lead". dogs should keep their personality as long as they dont hurt anyone

In this particular case i think you have a right to be pissed off, but i'm sure you'll agree, both with children and animals there is a point at which something needs to be said. Using the dogs as an example what if another dog came tearing up to Jack jumping on him and actually hurting him and the owner just shrugged their shoulders? My reaction would be firstly put my boot up the other dogs butt and then to tell the owner off. What do you think?
