Real estate, the game, the process, the reasons behind buying or selling; it’s all a massive roller coaster ride that most of the time I wanted get off because quite frankly it wasn’t much fun.
Yesterday we sold our house. Not just our house, but our home. Our beautiful home that for nearly 6 years I have called home, and my hubby more than 11 years.
From an old electrical warehouse to the stunning warehouse conversion it is today (thanks to my talented Architect husband), we have put our hearts and souls into this place making the sale bittersweet.
Happy and relieved because we have already bought a new house to raise our young family in, but sad that soon we will be saying goodbye to our warehouse that I have grown very attached too.
So many memories are tightly wrapped within these brick walls. But it’s time to say goodbye to the inner city, for the leafy suburbs where kids ride their bikes in the street, run between each others houses and where the mums take turns feeding whoever’s children are at their house that day.
The dull constant traffic noise will be replaced by a stillness and quietness that we’re not used to, but will be a welcome change nonetheless.
And so as we now empty the bookshelves, the cupboards, and begin the task of packing up all our ‘stuff’ we say goodbye to our beautiful home.
I truly hope the next family appreciates this place as much as we have.
Now it’s time to look forward to the next chapter. It’s not often you get to plan and do your dream renovation twice so I’m taking this opportunity and grasping it tightly with both hands. Me, Pinterest, and 12 months of planning…. Hubby won’t know what hit him!
