….on Facebook that is!
I’ve been thinking about this for quite some time and Mia Freedman’s post on her website yesterday morning gave me a little push to hurry up and get this opinion out! Mia’s post was titled: “Do you have ‘friends’ you don’t like (or even know) on Facebook?”
I love Facebook in the sense that it’s a great way to stay in touch with people who live in a different place than you, find old school friends and reconnect and share photos with people instead of sending out stacks of emails.
But yes, there are people on there that I barely know and probably never will, and people that I don’t really like. Because we do put personal information on there, like photos, I have often thought about doing a Facebook cull. Not to be petty or pathetic, but because I would rather only communicate with the people that I want to.
So why accept all their friend requests in the first place, I hear you ask? Well back when I first started on Facebook I didn’t really care, and quite happily accepted all friend requests. Now that I use it often, sometimes I think; Would I make time to see that person or that person and show them photos and discuss my life. No. So why then should I share all that with them on Facebook.
I know everybody uses it for different reasons and has a different opinion on this, so let me know what you think!
