I think it would be safe to say that I’m an organised person. Ok, truth be told I’m a bit of a neat freak. I like things in order and yes I like things labelled.

I’ve become somewhat relaxed about the whole tidy house thing since Miss Sophie came along, because as any Mum will know, to have a tidy house 100% of the time is just not possible. Now I aim for a tidy house at least once a week!

But let’s get back to the labelling bit. When Sophie started on bottles, the highlight was being able to whip out the gorgeous labels Sophie got as a present and label all her bottles.

Then a couple of weeks ago label company Bright Star Kids approached me and asked if it’d like to try some of their labels. Um, let me think about that… YES PLEASE!!

So I jumped on their website and was very relieved at how easy it is to use. But I warn you. Make sure you have enough time set aside, because it’s so hard to choose!! All the little pictures to go on the kids name labels are gorgeous! There’s a lovely range of colours too.

Bright Star Kids

They have everything on there. Wall Art, Name Labels, Bag Tags, even labels for around the house.

So I chose the Round Labels Value Kit. It came with 2 great sizes of round stick on labels and 2 sheets of iron on clothing labels. And after much deliberation we went with the hot pink and the cupcake picture. I loved the round shape as something different, and they fit perfectly on Sophie’s little food containers and even her bottle lids. And while Sophie isn’t at preschool or daycare yet, we do go to Mother’s Group once a week and are always having playdates with friends and their kiddies so it’s easy for things to get mixed up.

All the labels have survived numerous washing up’s and the iron on labels have survived the tumbles in the washing machine.

I would definitely recommend the labels to anyone looking to jazz up their kids bits and pieces and be organised at the same time! I’m also looking forward to checking out their wall sticker range later in the year when we start thinking about decking out the rumpus room for Sophie!

Disclosure: I received the label pack complimentary thanks to Bright Star Kids. No financial payment was offered nor accepted for this post. All opinions expressed are my own.

Also known as Group Therapy, for me, Mother’s Group has been a lifesaver. I’m not the the type of person to go and join a random group of people I don’t know. Why? Because that’s just how I roll. So when our Antenatal Group seemed like a good bunch of expectant parents, and we all exchanged details, I felt hopeful that maybe we’d possibly catch up in the future.

Not long after our pre-baby classes finished at the hospital, one of the Mum’s added me on Facebook. Brillant idea. And soon enough we’d all connected on Facebook and even started our own Facebook Group.

I’d heard so many horror stories about people rocking up to their local community centre and joining a Mother’s Group, only to end up surrounded by judgemental women about what clothes your baby was wearing, and how cute your baby was. I think I’d rather stick pins in my eyes.

So after our first post baby Antenatal Group catch up, I was excited and relieved. Excited that we would hopefully continue to catch up and form our own Mother’s Group, and relieved that I wouldn’t have to stick pins in my eyes after dragging myself to a community centre and ending up with a bunch of randoms.

All the babies!

It’s funny how a bunch of 7 women can all get along, and set each other’s minds at ease. We laugh, we cry (well I’ve had a blubber anyway), and we bond. We bond over stories of wanting a baby, we bond over comparing birth stories, and bitching about doctors and praising midwives. We talk about feeding, solids, weight gain, weight loss, boobs, bra’s, clothes, husband’s, partner’s, and baby sleep or lack there of, just to name a few. And most importantly we never compare and we never judge.

Our gorgeous kiddies

We encourage and remind each other that we’re doing the hardest job on earth and we’re all doing a damn good job.

It’s so great for all the babies to interact with one another, and it’s lovely that they’ll all grow up together, all born within a few weeks of each other.

And let’s face it, it’s so great for us Mum’s to get together and have adult conversation. Oh and eat cake!
