Thank you to the lovely Shelley at My Shoebox Life for passing the Kreativ Blogger Meme to me!

So the ‘rules’ are:

  • Copy the award to your blog
  • Insert a link to the person who nominated you
  • Share seven things about yourself that you haven’t told us before
  • Nominate other bloggers for the award – share the love
  • Link to their blogs
  • Tell the nominees about their award

So here goes my 7 random things:

  1. When I was 15 my Nonna took me to The Midday Show with Kerri-Anne to see Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler! They were out here promoting the Wedding Singer, and Drew Barrymore was like, totally my favourite actress EVER!!
  2. I watch The Bold and the Beautiful! Yes, that’s just as bad as watching The Hills, but I just can’t help it. I love how I could go for years of not watching it when I worked full time, but then just slot right back into knowing what’s going on!!
  3. Just like Shelley, I HAVE to have the toilet roll over the top. If for some reason it gets changed in the house it gets changed back immediately!
  4. I am petrified of going to the dentist. And after 5 years of avoiding going, this morning I went. Of my own free will. Did you read that – MY. OWN. FREE. WILL. Turns out I had nothing to worry about, and my teeth are perfect! Thank god, coz I was seriously shitting myself this morning! And yes I do realise that I have to give birth soon, which will no doubt make going to the dentist look like a walk in the park!
  5. I hate exercise. I’m really hoping this changes after the baby arrives and I find some motivation to drop the pregnancy pounds! I’m sure a hyperactive puppy will help that motivation along!
  6. I’m very guilty of eating while cooking. If I’m making say, a toasted sandwich; while it’s toasting I’ll eat a biscuit or lately sneak in a piece of slice! And I can’t even blame this one on pregnancy, I’ve always done it!
  7. I’m so convinced we’re having a boy that if it’s a girl, it’ll be even more of a surprise! Having said that, if it is a girl, I’m already looking forward to the tea parties and fairy garden! Stereotyping my future children much?! Maybe just a little!

So there you go! Now it’s your turn…

Playing the Field

I’ve never been much of a reader, despite the great efforts of my mum and Nonna when I was younger. But when faced with over 20 hours of airplanes or a week of ‘relaxing’ I’m always convinced to grab a novel.

I was first introduced to Zoe Foster’s writing via her blog, PRIMPED. So at the airport before our flight to our honeymoon, I saw ‘Air Kisses’ by Zoe Foster on the shelf and grabbed it. And loved it! You can read my review HERE.

So when I saw Zoe’s next book ‘Playing the Field’ on the shelf at Sydney airport before a 14 hour flight and 8 hour flight to Europe I grabbed it with both hands!

Playing the Field follows a WAG’s journey from shy new girlfriend of a football star to becoming engrossed in the lifestyle. Zoe’s quick wit comes through in her writing making it a very easy and enjoyable read.

There are plenty laugh out loud moments, and quite a few moments where I stopped and thought, Mmmm I wonder if that actually did happen! Zoe’s insight into WAG’s is first hand, as she is the former girlfriend of rugby league star, Craig Wing.

Up the Duff

So after I’d giggled and hmmmed my way through the book, hubby decided to read it to! And he actually quite enjoyed it.

Now I’m back to reading ‘Up the Duff’ by Kaz Cooke.

Of course entirely pregnancy and baby related, but seriously funny! It’s been great to be able to read that usually all of the things you experience through pregnancy are completely normal!

What are you reading at the moment?

So lately I’ve been doing a lot of baking. Call it nesting, boredom or call it the pregnant lady likes baked goods and therefore has to keep up with the demand. The demand from herself. Yes, I just referred to myself in the third person. Anyway, I digress.

Back to the baked goods.

First there was Jodie’s Chocolate and Coconut slice. Seriously YUM! Head HERE for the recipe.

Chocolate & Coconut Slice

Then there was Shelley’s Lemon Slice. Oh. My. Goodness. It’s like Shelley knew of my crazy pregnancy craving for anything lemon and put that recipe up just for me. Well that’s what I like to think anyway! You can go HERE for the recipe.

Now the only thing I would change about this recipe, I’d make double the icing. Why? Well after all my ‘taste testing’ of the icing I only just had enough to cover the slice!

THE Lemon Slice

I'm not sure how that happened...

So I’ve now made the Chocolate and Coconut Slice 4 times and this morning I’m going to make the Lemon Slice for the 2nd time. And I can’t guarantee there’ll be any left by the end of the week. Ok, by Wednesday. Oh who am I kidding, by the end of the day!

Do you bake? What recipe should I try next?
