how_to_complain_aheroYesterday while out shopping for pink things for our new baby niece, Hubby and I decided to grab a quick bite to eat. We were in town so headed into the mall and sat down at the first little cafe we found.

Quick easy order, 2 chicken tandoori burgers. Our drinks arrived quickly, but then time started passing by when it came to the food.

A young waitress came out and said are you waiting on two chicken burgers. Yes, we replied. More time passed and one burger arrived with the promise the other wasn’t too far away. My chips were cold and the burger was cold. But hungry and in a hurry I ate the burger anyway, but not the cold chips. I had just about finished when Hubby’s finally arrived. Hot chips, hot burger, clearly they had only made one and then realised there was 2 for the order.

So where is my lunchtime story going? Well I’m glad you asked. We didn’t whinge, complain, nothing? But afterwards we thought maybe we should have said we weren’t happy to the man behind the counter when he asked, How was everything today?

It takes something pretty appalling for me to actually complain in a restaurant or cafe, but then Hubby bought up a point yesterday, that if you owned a cafe would you want to know about unhappy customers?

What do you think? Should we have said something? Do you mention your unhappiness if you’re not happy when eating out?

img059I sure did, at the ripe old age of 4 that is. My mum often tells me how I used to dance around the loungeroom to none other than Whitney Houston.

So recently on one of my favourite blogs Mummy Mayhem, Jodie took us all on a trip back to the 80’s, delving into the weird and wonderful fashion of the decade! You can check it out HERE.

So what did the 80’s mean to me? Well firstly it meant being born. Yep in 1983 I decided to grace the world with my presence. Then I was introduced to the colour pink. Or maybe it was just in built in me. Either way I was somehow destined to be obsessed with the girliest of girly colours! My fashion of the 80’s 80s3was chosen for me by Mum, with the stipulation from me that everything was of course pink. God forbid I went to preschool not wearing pink. No-siree I was having none of that.

I discovered the telephone at an early age in the 80’s and spent many a time yacking away to my Nonna. I learnt the concept of sharing when my baby brother came along in 1986, much to my disgust, after specifically asking for a sister.

80s1I discovered Whitney Houston in 1987, and Kylie Minogue in 1988. Ah those were the days of the spinning around the loungeroom and singing along to those catchy pop songs! And in 1989 I started Kindergarten! So after sharing my gorgeous *cough* embarrasing 80’s pics with you, I’d also like to share the music!

So while Whitney’s gone a little bit crazy in recent years, she still has the most amazing set of pipes! That’s vocal chords boys, settle down! To this day I still love that song, and even wanted to use it somewhere in our wedding. But unfortunately I learnt early on before marriage about comprimise and sadly Whitney was not a part of our special day. And sadly neither was Kylie. But damn it, they’ll be a part of Puff.

So ladies and gentlemen, take a deep breath, get your hair permed, get out your teasing comb, and of course the good old microphone hairbrush and belt it out with me….
