Inspired by Mia Freedman inviting readers to do Guest Posts on her site, I thought it was a great idea and asked my #1 fan (which is currently up for debate) to be my guest here at Puff Pieces and write about the joys of dating!
In Ben’s words:
As one of Ami’s regular readers and also someone who has been known to give my opinion on a subject or two, she has asked me if I would like to write a piece on a subject that I know only to well, being single. What I would like to do is give you an idea of the differences I have experienced in being single at 21 and being single at 30.
At both of these stages of my life I had come out of serious relationships, and been thrown into the world of the single male. Now in the scheme of things, life in general, nine years does not seem like a lot. Especially when physically you are not that different, most people have finished their formal education, have started travelling, lived away from home. The only major difference, I guess is the financial situation, and for some I guess even that has not changed that much. However, the change in your ability to date or meet members of the opposite sex, at least for me, has completely changed.
Dog mystery solved!
After a heated debate over at Mamamia about Kyle & Jackie O, I thought I’d post a nice heartwarming story for a change of pace!
From ninemsn: An emaciated dog rescued from a squalid backyard in Melbourne is set to be reunited with its owners in Brisbane, some nine years after disappearing.
Chloe Rushby, 17, was stunned when the RSPCA called to say her beloved childhood puppy Muffy had been found alive, albeit 2000km away.
“It would be fair to say that they were extremely elated and extremely excited by the call,” RSPCA spokeswoman Gail Coulter told the Herald Sun.
It’s not often I agree with, actually I don’t think I’ve ever agreed with Kyle Sandlilands or taken his side or sided with the ‘minority’ when the media are having a go at him, but yesterday that day came.
If you missed the story here’s some background. A mother bought her 14 year old daughter on the Kyle & Jackie O show to take a lie detector test because she was concerned about her taking drugs, partying and having sex.
From ninemsn: The teenager’s mother brought her onto the 2DayFM segment to be questioned about her drug use and whether she had been having sex after she ran away from home.
When asked if she had ever had sex, the girl said: “I’ve already told you the story about this … and don’t look at me and smile because it’s not funny.”
